The Band

Dan Vail

Dan Vail

Dan was born in Hants County, Nova Scotia and grew up between there, Brockton, Massachusetts and Montgomery, Alabama.   He was fascinated by the blues at a young age and began taking lessons at the age of 14. Life took Dan from Montgomery to Dallas and then Wisconsin before going back to Massachusetts where he lived for 25 years.  Dan joined his first band in Holbrook at the Broken Chains Biker Church and held down the rhythm guitar duties there.

After a few years of driving a tractor trailer Dan found himself in Mansfield Ohio where he met Frank Boyd, Jr. coming out of the local music store.   We instantly knew that we had a purpose in common and a passion for the blues.   Frank is a master of the blues while Dan is yet a student.   Since joining the band in July of 2022 he has learned a mountain of knowledge about this amazing art form known as the blues!

“I am honored to be a part of this team and hope to see this band continue to spread the message in every way possible.”

Scott Jeffrey

Scott Jeffrey

Scott Jeffrey, a retired United States Postal worker, married to Carrie for 38 years with 2 children, Ashley, 37 and Andrew, 33. Scott, a talented musician, plays guitar, drums, the violin and various percussion instruments.

Scott’s hobbies include fishing, hunting and restoring 1960’s and early 1970’s Ludwig drum sets.  Scott’s wife, Carrie agrees it is a nice way to earn extra money.  However she would like it if Scott would sell them when he is done instead of having drum sets all over the house.  Scott says that he sold one last year so he is not really sure what she means!

“I met Frank in a second Hand music store. We talked and he played me some songs he had written. I pulled a guitar off the wall and played some as well. We became fast friends and he said there was a reason God put us together. It may or may not have been because of music, but we were friends. He used his powers of persuasion to convince me to come over and drum at his house helping them out. I hadn’t played in a band in 40 years and no one else could convince me to do this again, but that’s Frank! He has this knack of getting you out of your comfort zone. Well two years later he calls again and I helped. This time he is stuck with me! Loving every bit of it with a great group of guys that are like a small men’s group of extended church family, doing my little bit to play songs that get people thinking about God again.”

Ben Borden

Ben Borden

Ben was born in Marysville, Ohio in 1956.  From an early age Ben knew he wanted to play music. Drum lessons at age 8.  At age 10 Ben started playing percussion in schools in Ohio and Arkansas, playing in the marching band, concert band, orchestra and jazz band.
